Cassius Cash will step down as superintendent of Great Smoky Mountains National Park to join Yosemite Conservancy as CEO.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park Superintendent Cassius Cash is leaving the National Park Service. He has been chosen as the new president and CEO of the Yosemite Conservancy.

Cash, a Memphis native, was named park superintendent in 2014. "Thank you, it's been an awesome experience and an absolute honor to have worked alongside you!" Cash wrote to park employees Sept. 19.
