This year’s Women’s T20 World Cup is the ninth edition of the competition since its creation in 2009. That year, England triumphed over New Zealand in the final, on home soil, but Australia have won six of the subsequent seven tournaments.

The veteran batting all-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur will be leading team India in the ninth edition of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup which will be played in the United Arab Emirates from October 3. India remain the title contenders despite reaching the finals only once in their history.
