New Mexico State University announced Thursday that the Board of Regents has selected the university's next president.

New Mexico State University is expected to soon have a permanent leader for the first time since April 2023. The NMSU Board of Regents voted unanimously to select Valerio Ferme as its next president on Thursday.

Half a year and two batches of candidates later, New Mexico State University has chosen a new president. The Board of Regents unanimously selected Valerio Ferme of the University of Cincinnati to serve as president during a special meeting on Thursday, NMSU announced in a news release.
